The Russian Navy will adopt for service the advanced Futlyar deep-water torpedo that is undergoing its state trials now, the Russian news agency TASS reported on June 22, citing a source in the defense industry.

The Futlyar is an upgraded variant of the Fizik homing torpedo. The report says it is undergoing state trials at Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. It’s expected that the torpedo’s full-scale production shouldwill begin in 2017.

“The Futlyar will also be supplied with an improved homing system with an extended underwater target lock-on range. It will retain the baseline model’s range, speed and maximum launch depth – 50 km, over 50 knots and 400 m respectively,” TASS cited the source.

The Futlyar would equip the Project 955A Borey-A (NATO reporting name: Dolgorukiy-class), Project 885 Yasen-class (Severodvinsk-class) and Project 885M Yasen-M in the first place.

The Futlyar is developed by the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Marine Engineering. The Dagdizel Enterprise will handle its production.

Any chance Russia would be willing to sell these same upgrades to the good Iranian nation? Iran could use them to hold off the America advance on Russia from the South. And Iran could be able to better deal with Zionist-Israels nuclear fleet of submarines in case of emergency to save humanity from Zionist-globalist.
