Fire in Kherson
While Ukrainian forces are terrorising civilian population in the Russian border regions, the Russian military continues destroying Ukrainian military infrastructure. On December 30, new waves of Russian precision strikes reached their targets in the Ukrainian rear areas.
At night, Russian forces launched another series of strikes on military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, the Starokonstantinov military airfield in the Khmelnitsky region came under another attack. It was reportedly hit by Russian UAVs. According to local reports, after the recent massive attack, the Ukrainian military attempted to save and remove the remnants of the equipment that was supposed to be used for the deployment of foreign F-16 fighters from the airfield. The forces deployed for evacuation reportedly came under attack, as a result of which at least 10 Ukrainian servicemen were killed.
Fire in Kherson
Another target of Russian night attack was the facility used for accommodation of the Ukrainian military personnel in Kherson. An administrative building of a local factory was destroyed. According to the locals, a lot of ambulances came to the area after the strike. The facility was reportedly used as a military base by the Ukrainian military command. The officers launched meetings there for military planning and coordination of their operation on the bridgehead near Krynki on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River.
Explosions in Dnepropetrovsk
Later during the day, the Ukrainian media reported a new series of explosions in Dnepropetrovsk. Photos with clouds of smoke confirmed explosions in the area. Thus, Russian missiles or UAVs likely reached their targets, which are yet to be revealed.
New wave of strikes hit Ukrainian military positions near the village of Mikhailovka on the western bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. According to the local officials, some ‘administrative buildings’ were damaged, which means that the Ukrainian military likely suffered losses.
Ukrainian military sources also reported several explosions in Zaporozhye. Later, the local police reported that a rocket was shot down near the city, claiming that it could be an Iskander-M. No details were revealed, but the debris allegedly fell in the fields.
Russian daily strikes across Ukraine are likely to continue. Compared to the massive attack on December 29, their intensity is likely to decrease, but Ukrainian military facilities will continue to be destroyed, since the Ukrainian air defense forces do not have the means to protect the country’s territory.
