The Russian military’s Zapad [West] and Yug [South] groups of forces made gains in three key areas in the direction of Donetsk, increasing pressure on Kiev forces.
To the north of Liman, Russian troops imposed control of Derylove, and completed the capture of Shandryholove. Their success in the two settlements, allowed the troops to begin advancing towards Drobysheve, the last settlement before Liman which is a stronghold of Kiev forces.
Advance in Drobysheve is not expected to be fast, as the settlement is surrounded by wooded areas where the Ukrainians likely established robust defenses. Still, considering the speed of the push in Derylove and Shandryholove, a quick collapse of some defensive lines to the north of the settlements can be ruled out.
Moving to the south of Liman, Russian troops made a major push to the north of Yampil, reaching the Medovyy area. By this, routes leading to the settlement from the northern direction have been effectively cut.
Taking into account the fact that Russian troops have already established a foothold in the eastern part of Yampil, Kiev forces will not likely hold up in the settlement for too long.
Once Yampil is captured, the main supply line running between Liman and Seversk to the south will be directly threatened. This will affect the logistics of Kiev forces in this whole section of Donetsk. It could even lead to a complete collapse in this direction, if Ukraine fails to react timely.
A bit to the south, Russian troops advanced to the west of Serebrianka, towards Dronovka. The dolomite mine located between the settlements have been already secured.
This push put some serious pressure on Kiev forces in Seversk. The capture of Dronovka, which is not expected to happen soon, could make their situation even more critical as it would place the main supply route leading to the north of the city directly under fire from the Russian military.
While a complete collapse of Ukrainian defenses between Liman and Seversk does not seem imminent, the defensive operations of Kiev forces there and in other areas in Donetsk appear to be getting less and less effective by the day. Drone units of the Zapad and Yug groups of forces, as well the Russian Aerospace Forces are mainly responsible for this degradation.
