Early on July 28, the Saudi-led coalition announced that its air-defense means had intercepted four ballistic missiles and two suicide drones which were launched from Yemen by the Houthis (Ansar Allah).

According to a statement by the coalition, the missiles and drones were on their way to attack the southern Saudi city of Jizan when they were destroyed.

“The efficiency of our air defenses thwarted all the futile attempts of the terrorist Houthi militia,” the statement reads.

The coalition said that it was taking “operational measures” to target the sources of these missiles and drones, without providing any additional details.

Last week, specifically on July 24, the Saudi-led coalition intercepted four suicide drones and a ballistic missile which were allegedly launched by the Houthis at a number of targets in Saudi Arabia’s southern region.

The Houthis are yet to comment on the Saudi-led coalition’s recent claims. The Yemeni group has stepped up its attacks on the Kingdom this year. Nevertheless, it refined from claiming responsibility for a number of recent attacks for unknown reasons.
