Securtiy Situation In Iraq On April 2, 2019 (Map Update)

A brief overview of the recent developments in Iraq:

• An IED explosion wounded 2 security personnel and damaged an armoured vehicle in the village of Sheikh Tami, Diyala province;
• The Turkish Air Force continues its air campaign against PKK targets in northern Iraq. A series of recent strikes hit PKK positions in the area of Kandil Mountain;
• 4 ISIS-linked persons were arrested at a camp for the displaced persons in the province of Kirkuk;
• Government forces repelled a militant attack on the village of Akula, in the area east of Hawija;
• The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS members had abmushed a unit of government forces in Yathrib, north of Baghdad. At least 3 Federal Police personnel were killed, according to the claim.
