Syrian air defenses fired at several Israeli missiles which were launched from the occupied Golan Heights towards the capital, Damascus, and its surroundings in the early hours of November 17, according to the SANA.
Citing a military official, the state-run news agency said that most of the Israeli missiles were intercepted but some caused material damage.
The Israeli attack targeted outposts and weapons depots of Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed forces around Damascus, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based pro-opposition monitoring group of unknown funding.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has escalated its attacks on Syria significantly since the outbreak of the war with the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in the Gaza Strip. Strikes attributed to Israel have hit Aleppo and Damascus airports several times in the past month. In addition, the IDF struck southern Syria more than once in response to rocket attacks that targeted Golan.
At least seven fighters of Lebanese Hezbollah were killed near the central Syrian city of Homs by an Israeli strike on November 10. The IDF said that the strike was carried out in response to a drone attack that targeted Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat a day earlier, but it didn’t confirm that the drone was launched from Syria. Hezbollah praised the attack without claiming responsibility.
War-torn Syria has largely refrained from responding to Israel’s repeated attacks over the past decade in an attempt to avoid a dangerous confrontation.

i think, syria must stop intercepting missiles and stars interecepting israel planes. i know, russia does not want to, but i would say to syria: it is your country and your people.
they have no means to do that. israel uses lebanon’s high terrain as cover to attack syria. their jets fly low, pop up, launch their missiles and they’re back out of radar range in an instant. israel uses this tactic after losing a jet early in their war supporting isis against the regular people.
i would hate to have the russians as friends, because they deploy air defense systems to your country and hype it up via the news media about how when they arrive, no more missiles from israel will be able to strike targets inside syria, but when they arrive, they russians don’t do shit! kind of just like how they are doing in ukraine, the russians might finally be bleeding the ukrainians dry, but that should have happened a long time ago!
