The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) supported by Russian warplanes has taken control of the strategic settlement of Gmam in Latakia
On October 9, the SAA supported by the Russian Air Force pushed the al Nusra militants took control of the strategic of Gmam (35 km South East from Latakia). The settlement has a strategic role because its location allows to control the road to the city of al-Shughur and the Turkish border.
The Russian Air Force has destroyed the al Nusra artillery and cut the group’s supply routes in the area.
At the moment, the SAA is bulding fortifications in and around Gmam and preparing to continue its advance in the Latakia province.
