Late on January 25, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) advanced further in the outskirt of the city of Ma`arat al-Nu`man in southeast Idlib.
According to pro-government sources, the SAA captured the town of Ma’ar Shamshah, to the southeast of Ma`arat al-Nu`man. The army also imposed fire control over the strategic M5 highway, which passes through the city.
A few hours earlier, the SAA reached the outskirt of Ma`arat al-Nu`man after capturing the town of Talmenes, east of Ma’ar Shamshah.

The army is now only 700 meters away from Ma`arat al-Nu`man. The city, which was captured by rebels all the way back in 2012, is the biggest urban center in southeast Idlib.
The SAA will likely advance further in the next few hours. Heavy clashes are being reported near Wadi Deif, a large abandoned base bordering the southeastern districts of Ma`arat al-Nu`man.

Once the fighting is done and the Wahabbi maggot-troops have been eliminated, it will be time to root out their supporters who have been an integral part in their reign of terror over Idlib.
I think Damascus will need to invest in a few new prisons, but nothing too luxurious. A few thousand shipping containers in the desert, each with 20 sleeping pallets and a 40 gallon drum for water. Rations can be catapulted over the chain wire fence or air-dropped once daily and the animals within can “decide” who gets what…

Sadly many inhabitants are supporters of the Jihadi doctrine. Some by ideology, some by brainwashing, some by their sunni muslim tradition. This is a major problem for the future of Syria, and will become the decive battle of its future when Idlib will be liberated. Only Assads and the central gov strength and time may be able to slowly change that mindset. But that sadly is far from sure. The Turks, Saudis and US will continue to try to use the Sunni muslims even after the end of military ops, just like in Iraq..
