On August 11, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and local fighters captured the hill of al-Alam, the al-Zuluf dam, the old citadel, the hills of al-Qantara, Suh al-Na’ma and the area of al-Kar’a in the northern and northeastern al-Suwayda countryside, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The SANA’s reporter in the governorate of al-Suwayda said that the SAA artillery shelled and destroyed several positions, hideouts and vehicles of the terrorist group in the northern countryside during the last 24 hours.
According to Syrian pro-government sources, the SAA has liberated more than 2,000km2 of ISIS’ pocket in the northern and northeastern al-Suwayda countryside so far.
On the other side, ISIS fighters continue fleing the battlefield towards the area of al-Safa and possibly the Rukban refugees camp, which is located near a base of the US-led coalition in the border area of al-Tanaf .
As the remaining positions of ISIS in northern al-Suwayda are collapsing, the fate of around 30 civilian hostages, who were abducted by the terrorist group two weeks ago, remains unknown.

I’m totally flummoxed. Why would is-is forces flee to US forces committed to fighting is-iis according to Pentagram?

Both of these things? They are more afraid of the SAA or they are retracing their steps. Both bad visuals for the US! Not quite as ugly as ISIS sitting on the border of Israel for 6 years, fat, dumb and happy, but ugly enough.
