At least eight militants of the Turkish-backed National Syrian Army (NSA) were killed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern al-Hasakah, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on October 25.
“The axis of [the town of] Ras al-Ayn’s countryside, near the area leading to Tell Tamr, are witnessing clashes between both sides,” the UK-based monitoring group’s report reads.
The Hamza Division, one of the key members of the NSA, announced that six of the slain militants were fighting in its ranks.
The NSA launched on October 24 a surprise attack on several villages held by the SDF in the northern al-Hasakah countryside. The group’s militants also attacked SAA positions around the town of Tell Tamr.
According to the SOHR, three SDF fighters were killed in the clashes. The SAA also lost a service member who was captured and slaughtered by Turkish-backed militants.
The NSA’s attacks in northern al-Hasakah are a violation of the Turkish agreement with Russia and the U.S. Such acts could lead to a new escalation in northeast Syria.
Turkish-backed militants killed a CAPTURED SAA army guy? That’s illegal and tells me not to trust Turkey. Their “hires” are terrorists. And I wouldn’t believe much from the SOHR. It’s not a “group” it’s one Syrian guy in England who supports terrorists, from what I’ve read from Vanessa Beeley.
That’s not the first prisoner they’ve killed, nor do they restrict themselves to murdering combatant prisoners.
The Syrian airforce need to pounded the position with a heavy artillery and air strike,give them a reason to hesitate to carried this action again.
