The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered loads of weapons and toxic materials during recent search operations in the governorates of Hama, Damascus and Daraa, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on November 7.
A security source told the state-run news agency that the weapons and toxic materials were found in areas recently liberated by the SAA from militants and terrorist groups.
The weapons seized by the army included:
- Two U.S.-made TOW anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs);
- Two Bulgarian-made Konkurs ATGMs;
- Two Bulgarian-made Fagot ATGMs;
- A Soviet-made Metis ATGM;
- Several Grad 122 mm rockets.

The army also uncovered loads of toxic materials, including chlorine gas. The security source told SANA that some of the materials could be used to prepare chemical weapons.

By conducting intense search and combing operations in newly-liberated areas, the SAA is working to secure these areas in order to facilitate the return of locals.
