Syrian Arab Army units repelled an ISIS advance on the Badr Base at the southeastern countryside of Syria’s Dumayr city. Following a series of intense firefights, ISIS militants had been forces to retreat. 11 terrorists were killed as result of the clashes.
In the province of Raqqa, according to unconfirmed reports, the SAA, supported by Russian warplanes, gained more ground and now its units are deployed in only 5 km from the strategic Tabaqa Military Airport.
Meanwhile, Russian and Syrian waplanes conducted air raids against militants in the provinces of Homs, Aleppo and Raqqa:
- In the city of Deir Ezzor, ISIS militants were targeted in the Al-Husseiniyah and Hatla districts, leaving scores of dead and wounded ISIS fighters.
- An ammunition depot, belonging to militants, was destroyed in Haritan
- A column of Al Nusra militants was reportedly targeted in southern Aleppo.
Earlier, there were reports, that up to 100 heavily-armed Al Nusra militants gathered near al-Eis and al-Hadher in the southern part of the Aleppo province. These settlements are located near the strategic highway that links the cities of Homs and Aleppo.
