The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have liberated 5 villages from ISIS terrorists south of Uqayribat town in the eastern Salamiyah countryside.
The SAA and the NDF took control of Salam Gharbi, Jub Bashir, Jurf, Lujj and Tal Shehab further putting pressure on the remaining ISIS forces in the area.
Earlier this week, government forces divided the ISIS-held pocket in eastern Salamiyah into two separate parts. Some pro-government sources even claimed that the entire pocket has been cleared from ISIS members. However, these reports are untrue.
superheroes’ prorities from the russian led colition are clear and clean … God bless always
First the small pocket doesnt exist . Second ISIS still have some presence south of Sheikh Hilal .
Good, once completed here these NDF forces are needed in Qaryatayn.
One can be lulled into a false sense of security. This isn’t a game of draughts. Just because a bit of map goes pink doesn’t mean the SAA has won. Some areas will still be hostile to the government, or at least politically neutral (i.e. they don’t support either the government or the FSA). It will be like an armed truce for a long while, and with Israeli and other foreign agitation, Syria will be a challenging place to govern. Still, I applaud and support the men of the SAA who persist in the face of overwhelming opposition.
