For the third day in a row, helicopters of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) pounded militants’ positions in the northern Lattakia countryside.
The Syrian observatory for Human Rights (SHOR) reported that Syrian helicopters carried out on September 25 several airstrikes on the strategic town of Kabani in the region.
“So far, there are no information of any human losses [as a result of the airstrikes],” the London-based monitoring group said in a report.
Kabani is occupied by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Horas al-Din and so-called Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK). The terrorists are using the town as base to launch rocket and armed drones on the Russian Hmeimim airbase and civilian areas on the Syrian coast.
Last week, the northern Lattakia countryside witnessed high-tension when HTS deployed fresh reinforcements around Kabani.
The resumption of aerial attacks on militants’ positions in northern Lattakia was likely a response to HTS’ aggressive behavior, which is a violation of the Sochi agreement reach last year.

It appears that with Russian and Iranian the SAA fleet is back in business. Whenever I read RuAF, or SyAF, pound terrorist positions I automatically assume they only hit sand as attack after attack after attack after attack on Kabani has been repulsed. Either these headchoppers have bottomless reserves, or ……., these attacks are not so effective as the propaganda makes it out to be. Which makes sense, because every time the SAA takes over a major piece of headchopper real estate we are treated to endless footage of massive underground tunnel complexes from which they fought. Assuming that the headchopper defenses around Kabani include massive tunnel complexes its most likely that these airstrikes only pounded sand while the headchoppers sat safely underground.
