In the early hours of September 27, a unit of the Syrian Air Force Intelligence Directorate (AFID) clashed with an ISIS cell in the town of al-Harrah in the western Daraa countryside, according to the Baladi News outlet.
The Syrian pro-opposition outlet said that the AFID was carrying out a security operation in al-Harrah when the terrorists opened fire. During the operation, which targeted smugglers and ISIS sympathizers, at least five suspects were arrested.
The Ministry of Defense of Syrian has not commented on the incident so far. However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that at least one servicemember of the AFID was killed in the clashes. An unknown number of terrorists was also killed and injured.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) entered al-Harrah following a deal with local Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters during its recent operation in southern Syria. The town’s hill is considered the highest point in western Daraa and used to host a secret Syrian-Russian signal intelligence base.
During the last two months, Syrian security forces and intelligence launched dozens of security operations in the newly-liberated areas in southern Syria in cooperation with former FSA fighters. The goal of these operations is to combat ISIS influence in these areas in order to prevent possible terrorist attacks.

Better bring down resources from idlib and start patrolling the borders. Assads personal spy service wont be able to handle it all.
Remaining, by the will of god.
“The operation which targeted smugglers”, who don’t want to be seen taking “goods” from the IDF.
