On May 8, deputy commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Hossein Salami stated that Iran is not afraid of US sanctions or attack, according to Iranian Fars news agency.

I don’t want to jump the gun here, but it does look like the withdrawal from the JCPOA is a done deal. The thing is the Iranians took a chance and it looks like the gamble failed. One of the big looser must be Hasan Rouhani. I did try to post a comment on Press TV saying that this mess would not have happened under a strong president like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

As far as I can understand Iran has decided to stay in the JCPOA. This makes some sense as the deal was never simply a bilateral agreement with the USA, The important point here is that the Europeans were also involved. However, I can not see the Europeans keeping up an independent position for very long. My guess is that a complete collapse is coming, the alternative would be a big rift between Europe and the USA. I can certainly be wrong but I just can not see that happening. Again I could be wrong but I also expect a big Israeli push for war.

I do not remember that Iran attacked anybody but I remember that Iran was attacked by many including the USA, UK, Israel, etc. Those who are trying to expand are namely the US and its allies. The US and its allies have military bases all over the region and for what????? The US and its allies are meddling in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and all over. I do not see Iran doing the same. US is withdrawing from a deal they newer abide by to begin with. JCPOA clearly states that all US sanctions against Iran should be lifted – not some of them for a limited period of time. Anyway it’s the EU remaining in the deal that really matters. If they decide to stick – and it seems that they will – no way US can sanction all EU companies that are contracting 100s of millions of $ in business deals with Iran. And if they try the only remaining US trade partner in the world would be a poor ME country of 7 million people whose biggest foreign income is – US aid…. And maybe Vanuatu…

I think that Iran should withdraw from the agreement if they want to since the other parties do not have the honor to respect their signature. Also, Iran should refuse to re-negotiate any agreement with the US unless the same conditions imposed on Iran are imposed on Israel. Let them argue with the Israelis until the end of time
Iran will keep the agreement until the circumstances change I think. If the EU honours the agreement , there is mileage in keeping it for now. As Syria is cleansed of Takfiri’s and Iraq gains some strength after decades of war, it will be time to move on.

The Iran deal was one of the worst deals ever, but not because of the said reasons by (((them))). It was totally unfair because it did not allow Iran to enrich to 20% which is what is needed for ship’s fuel. The deal is terrible. Trump is wrong for his worship of Jews as the master race. The deal should be redone by the international community, so Iran can enrich up to 20% and capped at 20%.
