On the evening of October 2, Israeli forces launched air strikes on the positions of the Syrian armed forces near Deir Ezzor in the east of the country. The Syrian Ministry of Defense confirmed that two Syrian soldiers were wounded as a result of the strikes.
The Israeli army is regularly launching airstrikes on various targets in Syria. Tel Aviv does not comment on its regular strikes on Syria, although it admits hundreds of combat sorties against Iranian-backed groups trying to gain a foothold in the country. The Israeli military claims that the targets are the supply chains of weapons allegedly intended for these groups, the main one of which is Hezbollah.
