The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on June 1 that the Houthis (Ansar Allah) launched more drones and missiles from Yemen over the past day.
One of the drones launched by the group crashed into the Red Sea without causing injuries or damage, the command said in a statement, adding that three more drones were intercepted by its forces over the Red Sea and another over the Gulf of Aden.
The command also said that the Houthis launched two anti-ship ballistic missiles into the Gulf of Aden, noting that no injuries or damage were reported by U.S., coalition, or commercial ships.
“It was determined these systems presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region,” CENTCOM said. “This action was taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels.”
It’s worth noting that the Houthis carried out on May 31 a missile attack against the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Red Sea in response to American and British strikes that killed 16 people in Yemen a day earlier. U.S. defense officials denied that the carrier was hit.
Since last November, the Houthi have attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the U.S. and the United Kingdom in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in response to the Israeli war and siege on the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the group launched dozens of drones and missiles at the southernmost Israeli city of Eilat and shot down six American-made combat drones over Yemen and nearby waters.
The U.S. and the UK have carried out hundreds of strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen since January in an attempt to deter the group and degrade its offensive capabilities, but to no avail.

now that iran is providing them with warheads weighing 1000kg they have a better chance of actually inflicting damage. it’s time for the usa and uk to face the consequences of their actions against civilians in yemen all these years.
indeed it is time to cut off the head of the snake in this case a 50 year old carrier.
