U.S. Slams New Sanctions On Cuba, Renews Military Threats

On June 11, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced sanctions against the Union Cuba-Petroleo (CUPET), Cuba’s state-owned energy company.

In a statement posted to X, Rubio said that the sanctions were imposed under President Donald Trump’s Executive Order 14404, as part of a broader effort to pressure the Cuban government.

“Cuba’s Communist elites have weaponized energy as a tool of social control and kleptocratic profit,” he wrote.

“For decades, the regime has stolen and hoarded available fuel — using it for the Castros’ private jet, the security services forces used to repress the Cuban people, to keep empty tourist hotels lit up, and to bus people in for fake protests and political stunts — all while the Cuban people have suffered blackouts and waited weeks to fill their cars,” he added.

Rubio went on to say that Trump wants a future for the Cuban people with “greater” economic and political freedom and opportunity.

“Until then, we will continue to target the Communist regime’s ability to leverage its energy trade to further its corrupt agenda and violently repress the Cuban people,” he concluded.

The U.S. has been increasing pressure on Cuba for the last few weeks, but the escalation began earlier this year, specifically right after Trump ordered a special operation to capture Nicolas Maduro, the long-term leader of Havana’s ally Venezuela in January. More than 30 Cuban troops who were guarding Maduro’s residency in Caracas were killed in the operation.

The Trump administration has since vowed to starve Cuba of oil, amid one of the worst energy crises in the history of the communist-ruled nation.

The latest sanctions come just a day after Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay.

During the visit, he again hinted at the possibility of military action, warning Cuba not to make the kind of “wrong decision” that “creates the kind of threat the United States may have to deal with”.

According to several recent reports, the U.S. military already has plans in place and is actively making preparations for a possible intervention in Cuba. The intervention could come with little to no warning signs, although the end of the war on Iran would be an indication.

amerikunts are less than filth. they think they have a god given right to murder, slaughter, torture, rob, starve and immiserate anyone whenever they feel like it. but the times they are a changing. in the not too distant future they will experience what they have inflicted on so many others for so long. only then will they finally clean up their act.

what happened to world peace? to be friends and lets do business together? war and killing is more profitable for the satanic usa elite?

q_prime

cuba better prepare for this and achieve some energy independence and grow their own domestic oil production and reserves. cubans should have adapted earlier prepared for this. the coup in venezuela could have been prevented with a bigger cuban contingent of a larger military unit securing maduro. 30-50/men is not enough to prevent a usa intervention and bribing inside the venezuelan government/military. you needed a unit with its own aa defense sites drones and contingency planning.

Itsthejews

the cubans need to achieve energy independence, bolster their domestic military, prepare a large amount of fpv drones and gurillia warfare. they can only defeat a usa occupation if they are willing to go all the way like vietnam. have small units that are well organized and willing to do what they do.
decentralize their government enough so that a dscapitation strike becomes impossible.

Ivan

or they could just surrender and burden america forever with mooching and welfare living, finally enjoying the fruits of real communism

Ivan

the americans control puerto rico and that doesn’t make puerto rico productive or prosperous, why would cuba be any different?
