On the night of October 19th, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a series of drone strikes in the Russian rear regions. One of the targets of the attack was the Silicon plant in the city of Bryansk. LINK The local authorities confirmed Ukrainian strikes, claiming that Ukrainian drone damage an administrative building on the territory of the plant. The attack resulted in no casualties.

However, it turned out that the drone strikes on the Silicon plant resulted in a heavier damage than it was reported before. The chip manufacturer Silicon El Group is eliminating the consequences of explosions and fires as a result of the attack.

As a result, the production of electronic equipment has been stopped. Power supply was disrupted and production chains at the Silicon El Group enterprise were interrupted due to the night attack, the company’s management reported. The general director of the enterprise said that the main task is “to resume production of electronic equipment as soon as possible.” Now the builders are conducting an examination of the possibility of restoring the damage.

“As a result of the night terrorist attack on the production and administrative buildings of the plant, power supply was disrupted, special energy supply facilities were damaged, and technological production chains were interrupted. The staff of the plant has rallied like never before — everyone, to the best of their abilities, participates in the elimination of the consequences of explosions and fires,” the message says.

Silicon El Group JSC is one of the largest microelectronics enterprises in Russia that supplies its products to 815 companies. In particular, the plant produces modern chips, power modules and diodes, and processes metals and thermoplastics. The company’s staff exceeds 1.7 thousand people. By the end of 2021, the revenue of JSC “Silicon El Group” amounted to 3.9 billion rubles. This is not the first Ukrainian drone attack on the territory of the Silicon plant, but the previous strikes did not lead to significant consequences.
