Ukrainian Missile, Drone Attack Damages Two Russian Vessels In Sevastopol Port (Videos)

Early on September 13, a Ukrainian missile and drone attack targeted port infrastructure in the Crimean city of Sevastopol, which hosts Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

“Approximately 20 minutes ago, our enemies attacked Sevastopol,” Mikhail Razvozhaev, governor of the strategic port city, said in a Telegram post at around 3:40 a.m. local time.

Later, Razvozhaev said that 24 people were wounded , of whom four were in a moderately serious condition. Air defenses were activated against the suspected missiles. However, the attack caused a fire at a “non-civilian” facility in the city’s industrial district, according to the governor.

Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed the strike in a later statement, saying that Kiev forces had fired ten cruise missiles at the Sevastopol Shipyard overnight.

“Last night, the Armed Force of Ukraine fired ten cruise missiles at the ship repair plant named after S. Ordzhonikidze in Sevastopol and three uncrewed boats at a detachment of Black Sea Fleet ships on a sea crossing,” the statement reads. “Air defense systems shot down seven cruise missiles. The patrol ship Vasily Bykov destroyed all the unmanned boats. Two ships under repair were damaged by the enemy cruise missiles.”

According to unconfirmed reports, the main strike was carried out by Ukrainian Su-24 fighter bombers armed with British Storm Shadow and French SCALP cruise missiles. The reports identified the vessels damaged in the attack as a Ropucha-class landing ship and Kilo-class submarine of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Videos that surfaced on social media showed several explosions in Sevastopol port as well as a number of interceptions above it.

In recent months, Ukraine launched aerial and naval drones at Crimea on several occasions. However, most of the drones were destroyed before reaching the peninsula.

The last attack was not only larger in scale, but also appears to have been planned with intelligence that the Kiev regime could not have obtained on its own. It is very possible that NATO, or at least some of its members, were involved in the planning.

The attack, which was apparently carried out to cover up for the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, will likely provoke a fierce response from the Russian military.

F***ing Royalists

this is no different than a direct nato attack on russia as western dreams of empire crumble on the back of stupid ideas and insane greed.

it could have easily been repelled 100% if there was an s-400 battery and buk-m2 battery within 5km of the port. nearest battery is 40km away. only few pantsirs defending the port. not enough to repel a mass wave of stealth drones. disappointing. ruaf air defense command needs to transfer more s-300/400 battalions nearby to cover the port. it’s reckless to have expensive, critical naval assets undergoing repairs with their radars turned off (weapons off) unprotected by advanced sam like s-400.

USA the world's bully

“…british storm shadow and french scalp cruise missiles……” little britain and falling france are going to be deep poo for a long time. still waiting for an explanation what they are doing in this ukraine war.

you will be waiting a long time to get an answer from that trash.

simple solution

russia has already captured a fully intact storm shadow cruise missile. i’m sure they’ve found out some info on it already because pantsir intercepted 7/10 of them which if very good considering storm shadow is the most stealth cruise missile in the world

‘ i’m sure they’ve found out some info on it already’

storm shadow is half british, that should cover most questions about how it works, or more likely why it doesn’t work. there’s a repair manual online in pdf format, just don’t forget the elastic bands and egg cartons it uses as spare parts.

does this mean ukraine barbie should come with a bandage and ukraine ken should come with a coffin

another nato attack on crimea, ffs give them an answer they won’t forget.

if it was a nato attack, wouldn’t there already be war or russians on ukrainian territory, or do you eat ice cream with your forehead? are you stupid enough to think that the russian army that cannot defeat a precarious army like the ukrainian one can defeat nato? russian trolls live in an alternative reality, as always

Cromwell

listen you nazi prick, nato missiles, nato intel, nato advisers, it’s nato, hello anyone home?

Malcom Z

it seems tha missile have been launched from romania allowing ukraine jets to fly over its airspace and have entered from the east part of sebastopol to avoid air defense

War

if russia can’t stop 10 old cruise missiles, how do they expect to stop the tens of thousands of modern cruise missiles stockpiled by nato?

White Gandalf

neither side will ever be able to intercept all missiles, and a few well placed are sufficient to cause heavy damage. that applies to russians as well as to ukrainians (alias nato). the only way to stop those attacks would be a cessation of hostilities – but neither side is interested in anything like that, as long as it’s respective interests are not accommodated. expect much more like that to come.

simple solution

i saw the videos, there were multiple interceptions. 7/10 missiles intercepted. but all it took was 3 to cause damage. an s-400 battery nearby could have prevented this, instead only pantsir protecting critical naval assets undergoing repairs with their radars/weapon systems turned off. ridiculous

Ourse

“five su-24m took off from the starokonstantinov airbase in the khmelnitsky region. four reached the missile launch line over the nikolaev and kherson regions, and one carried out an attack from the direction of zmeiny island.” – can someone explain why s-500/s-400 are not blowing these su-24’s out of the sky before they can launch cruise missiles? isn’t that what they are designed to do?

its because putin is in on this plan too…. come on man, putin is a wef young leader…… everyone… and i mean everyone on earth in power is in on it…. even trump.

the only saviours on planet earth is jesus and the people……….. until the people of nations start dragging politicians out onto the streets and executing them then nothing will change!!!!!!!!!

Ourse

i had been suspecting that this is all theatre to get their great reset agenda. smo and obvious failures and inaction have never made sense.

Deceased ghost of ?

they fly as low as their ability will allow less than 65ft in most cases below radar and pop above for an instant before dropping back down off radar the 7 missiles shot down were probably off terrain matching guidance to elevate for the data link phase

simple solution

7 missiles shot down with pantsir/tor. why in the fucking world isn’t there an or s-400 battery within 5-10km of the port to protect it from drone/cruise missile attacks? also buk-m2? multi layered defense system? naval port is top priority critical assets. all advanced air defense should be combined to layer and defend. pantsir did all the work here only

simple solution

russian space force satellites and long range radars track them as they take off, but they fly very low before launch to evade radar track, then fly back to base. disappearing from radar since flying low below horizon. then cruise missiles detected last minute giving pantsir a short time to intercept them all, and still 7/10 which isn’t bad against stealthiest cruise missile in the world storm shadow

Beťar

tu pomôže iba posunutie frontu o cca 50 km smerom na západ!!! už som o tom písal. možno sa mýlim, no možno nie. armagedon by mal teraz vyhodnotiť situáciu a dať rozkaz na zamedzenie takýmto útokom.

constructive criticism: air defense did an ok job (7/10), but 3 storm shadows still made it through and damaged landing ship and kilo class sub. possibly even another ship. sevastapol port should have at least 2 s-400 battalions protecting it alongside buk-m3 and many pantsir systems nearby in a large, layered system. all i saw here was few pantsirs engaging targets. very disappointing. pantsirs alone cannot stop a mass wave of stealth cruise missiles like storm shadow.

simple solution

russia has every right to use small yield 5kt tactical nuke against every ukrainian airbase. minimal civilian casualties, minimal radiation, complete destruction of the bases/runways and hangars/planes.

do it already.

simple solution

4 batteries of s-400 deployed in crimea. the one in sevastapol is 40-50km away from the naval port! that is far considering stealth storm shadow have smaller detection ranges. s-400, buk-m3, and pantsir should be within 5-10km of naval port for optimal protection. what in the world is air defense command thinking. ridiculous. they need to protect their critical naval assets with best air defense, not just a few pantsir only.

i think they are protecting the s400s not the vessels :d

what air defence doing

whoever in charge air defense sevastapol port needs to be replaced with more competent. no s-400? just pantsir? to protect an entire fleet in repair what the fuck

what air defence doing

just tactical nuke all ukrop airbases at this point. iskander, kh101, kh22 or khinzal can do it :) only way to ensure ukrops have no airfields

Cromwell

they shouldn’t have had any airfields or railway tracks in a year.

USA the world's bully

months ago some war analysts speculated usa wants to destroy all of russia’s black sea fleet to eliminate russia as a black sea naval power. this war is 80% about crimea.

russia will have to go all the way to the romania danube border, to protect its strategic crimea. but probably nato will occupy that ukraine/romania border area first. this war has a long way to go.

it’s the man shortage problem that ends this. and ukraine is straining already.

Paul

the russians should know better.

keep your important stuff out of missile range. allow no gatherings of more than 10 men unless they’re likewise out of range.
