Ukrainian positions in the Kurakhovo direction continue worsening. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are retreating from one stronghold to another. Russian forces won new victories in all directions in and around Kurakhovo.
The battle for the residential areas in the city of Kurakhovo ended. Ukrainian forces lost control of their last positions in the multistorey buildings in the city center and retreated to the industrial zone west of the city. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation also took full control of the Southern district, where the Ukrainian military hoped to hold defense in the multistorey buildings. The decisive battle for the Kurakhovskaya TPP and the industrial facilities nearby is upcoming.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are securing their control of the last Ukrainian strongholds in the villages south of Kurakhovo. The main logistics hub and Ukrainian stronghold in the Southern Donetsk direction was the village of Uspenovka. On December 18th, the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic showed Russian flags waving in the town, which came under the full Russian control.
To the west, Russian forces took control of Konstantinopolskoe and expanded their zone of control around Sukhie Yaly.
According to preliminary reports, the village of Zelenovka also came under Russian control after several days of fighting. As a result, Ukrainian positions in Ulakly and Konstantinopol came under close Russian control, together with the vital road west of Kurakhovo.
Destroyed Ukrainian positions:
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also failed to stop Russian advance around the town of Velyka Novosilka. According to preliminary reports, the village of Novy Komar came under Russian control. This is an important victory north of the main Ukrainian stronghold in Velyka Novosilka. The day before, Ukrainian military reporters confirmed the loss of Makarovka on the southern flank. At the same time, Russian troops are rapidly expanding their zone of control west of Storozhevoe. The Ukrainian army is losing another important stronghold becaus Velyka Novosilka may be surrounded very soon.
