The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured the strategic village of Kadiran in the western Raqqa countryside after violent clashes with ISIS militants. Thus, the US-backed force deployed in just a few meters away from the Ba’ath dam.

The SDF also continued its attempts to capture the village of Ibn Darwish; the last village in the northern Raqqa countryside.
Meanwhile, ISIS launched a counter-attack on the SDF east of the of the 17th Division Base.
ISIS also shelled SDF positions east of Raqqa city with mortars.
According to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq, four civilians lost their lifes due to an airstrike by the US-led collation on the village of Diriyah west of Raqqa.
According to local sources, more civilians were killed as a result of the American shelling on the village of Dabsi Afnan in the western Raqqa countryside.
The US-led coalition also announced that the Marines artillery deployed in Syria had fired up to 4,500 shells supporting the SDF advance.
Separately, the Military Council in Minbij announced that 2,200 Arab fighters will participate in capturing Raqqa city with US support.
Earlier this month, the United States handed over more than 100 trucks of weapons and ammunition to the SDF.

Close anyway. This is not a dam like in Tabqa with water at both sides of the dam. SDF can take the dam from all sides except from the front unless by swimming lol)
The noose is getting tight around Raqqah, just some two kms at some points.
There is info of large numbers of civilians having left the city and area around the city. The less civilians around, the easier the assault will become.
