US Base At Key Northeastern Syrian Gas Facility Was Shelled – Reports

The US-led coalition base at the CONICO gas facility in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Deir Ezzor has reportedly came under attack.

Late on December 4, a source based in Deir Ezzor told RT that three rockets had hit the base. The source said that helicopters of the US-led coalition conducted a patrol over the base following the attack. No casualties or material losses were reported.

At around the same time, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that four artillery rounds struck a mine field located around the US-led coalition base at the CONICO gas facility. The London-based monitoring group claimed that the artillery rounds were fired from an area held by Syrian government forces.

The US-led coalition and its main proxy in northeastern Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces, have not commented on these reports, yet.

On December 5, Syrian news sources reported that the US-led coalition had held a live-fire exercise at the CONICO gas facility. The exercise saw the firing of several artillery shells and patrols by military helicopters. This may be the cause of the explosion heard near the facility late on December 4.

It’s worth noting that the US-led coalition held a similar live-fire exercise at al-Omar oil fields, which are located to the south of CONICO, on December 2.

US-led coalition positions at the CONICO oil facility and al-Omar oil fields came under attack on several occasions in the last few months. Iranian-backed forces were allegedly behind the attacks.

Its not a large enough attack,Syria should destroy those oil fields rather than leave them under US Reich control.
