US-led Coalition Limits Operations In Iraq Because Of 'Security Issues'

In this Aug. 20, 2017 file photo, U.S. Army soldiers stands next to a guided-missile launcher, a few miles from the frontline, in the village of Abu Ghaddur, east of Tal Afar, Iraq.

On January 5, the US-led coalition announced that it had limited its anti-ISIS and training operations in Iraq. The coalition blamed Kataib Hezbollah for security issues and said that it will focus on securiing its personnel deployed.

An official statement by the US-led coalition (source):

CJTF-OIR Statement on the ongoing Defeat Daesh Mission

Our first priority is protecting all Coalition personnel committed to the defeat of Daesh.  Repeated rocket attacks over the last two months by elements of Kata’ib Hezbollah have caused the death of Iraqi Security Forces personnel and a U.S. civilian.  As a result we are now fully committed to protecting the Iraqi bases that host Coalition troops.  This has limited our capacity to conduct training with partners and to support their operations against Daesh and we have therefore paused these activities, subject to continuous review.  We remain resolute as partners of the Government of Iraq and the Iraqi people that have welcomed us into their country to help defeat ISIS.  We remain ready to return our full attention and efforts back to our shared goal of ensuring the lasting defeat of Daesh.

This is standard procedure for unwanted military guests in hostile situations, better to stay indoors than provoking the indigenous population with insensitive actions

Perfect, just go right ahead and keep everybody all bunched up. It is a glaring example of tactical stupidity, born of arrogance and intransigence in my book. They are only ‘safe’ for the moment because the PMU has given everybody until this evening to get our of harms way.

Muricunts being scared.

Damn straight you’ve got security issues. You occupy a foreign country that hates you, and then you murdered a man that everyone loves. Sheer stupidity and Arrogance.

well it would seem the kataib hezbollah would be well advised to go out hunting americans to shorten their lives and make good use of the body bags that is an america signum more than anything else and if they can get one or two or three dozens of jews in the process, no one would disapprove. the americans, like in vietnam, are basically best at home within the safety of the compounds where the chance of being shot at is slight to slimmer. anyone remember when one viewed americans as the toughest of the tough whereas they today are the wimpiest of the wimps, second to the jews only, and obese and undereducated as well.

ruca

Well, in Hollywood they are the toughest.

“… all personell commited to support and sustain Daesh”… that would be more accurate.

My thoughts as well.

No doubt that the US grunts all got issued with new targets….to wear on their backs. It might save a lot of time in the long run.

FlorianGeyer

Thank God that their US bases have ‘safe spaces’ in their camps with cuddly toys and therapists.

ruca

Dog forbid they become triggered.
