Video from the area of the village of Berhovka located on the north-western outskirts of Bakhmut shows that the area remains in the hands of Russian forces. An attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area was repelled.
Earlier, on June 5, the head of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin stated that Kyiv units entered the western outskirts of the village and fighting was ongoing there. Pro-Kyiv sources rushed to claim that the village was fully in the hands of Kyiv’s forces.
The statement of Prigozhin followed reports that Wagner fighters started to hand over their positions in Bakhmut to regular Russian troops.
As of June 6, it seems that the attack on the village was repelled and pro-Kyiv troops retreated from the area. Other attacks on Kyiv’s forces in the area of Bakhmut have also been contained as of now.
