While the fall of the Assad regime has brought the conflict in Syria closer to its end, violence continues in the war-torn country with a surge in crimes and reports of violations by the new authorities.
Late on December 22, the town of al-Bahlouliyah in the western Latakia countryside saw a protest after violations by gunmen claiming to be a part of the Military Operation Directory (MOD), the armed forces of the new government.
The gunmen reportedly broke into a house in the town and harassed a girl in two separate incidents. The locals then gathered and surrounded the gunmen and demanded their withdrawal. The problem was resolved later as a delegation of the MOD arrived in the town and withdrew the gunmen.
Also over the night of December 22 and 23, clashes broke out in the town of Manbij between local tribesmen and fighters from the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).
The clashes began after the locals accused some SNA fighters of abducting and sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl. In the days leading to the clashes, there were many reports of robberies and murders by different factions of the SNA which recently captured the town from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.
Back to Lattakia countryside, a group of gunmen stormed on December 23 a resort in al-Qardahah, the hometown of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The gunmen stole several vehicles. The incident led to an outrage among the locals who demanded the MOD to end such violations.
Meanwhile in the northern Hama countryside, a protest broke out in the Christian town of al-Suqaylabiyah after a large Christmas tree was set on fire in the main square. The locals accused fighters from the MOD of setting the tree on fire.
All in all, the new government in Syria, led by the Islamist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, is still struggling to secure the country as well as to gain the trust of the locals, especially minorities.
While the government may be honest, it will certainly face many many challenges from the widespread use of weapons to its inability to control some radical elements. Considering these factors, the future of Syria appears to be uncertain and the conflict may be far from being over.
what would anyone expect since nato has taken over syria 🇸🇾 expecting peace is out of the question..!!
you have to know that the us doesn’t have a magic wand with which they can force people to do something. the conflicts there are real. for the radical muslims, everyone who isn’t a muslim is an infidel and will go to hell. the us didn’t think that up, it’s older than the us. there are also armed gangs, etc. there are many problems and it’s up to the arabs themselves whether they get resolved or lead to even more problems.
…and according to catholics, anyone who isn’t a catholic is a heathen and will go to hell. what’s your point?
and the confirmation is a,legally binding contract totally which means when you die your soul is ths property of the vatican.
…the usa has a magic wand and it’s called dollar$!!! even the most foolish osama can be enchanted with it!
this magic wand also works in the last corner of this earth, just try it out!
it’s the petro dollar .it’s operated using the us as the fall guy .
who isn’t a catholic us heathen rhwy starred it all the redemptionists firsr the romans killed the christians for around 450 years in their beloved colosseum , then they changed their mind and constantine made christianity the state religion. so then they dumped their paganism and instead went around their empire killing the pagans unless they converted to the new religion too .then islam was invented in arabia .
well who are nato really ? join the dots
“abducting and sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl”
all these years under kurdish control and they were left alone yet they revolted against us. how your turkish master treating u guys now:
the catholic church’s paedophilia just in america alone ,curiously the only place the law really let the church be discredited, just about bankrupted it in payouts .thousands and thousands of claims .” they hate jesus and christian’s ” pope benedict, who btw was raised as hitler youth .
oy vey. pay no attention to the jew behind the curtain.
hmmm, i bet the psycho-clowns responsible for this are going to treat their own and other populations differently, right? everything in the psyop book is being thrown at the population to send it into turmoil and lawlessness. the ones who wanted power the most were always the least fit to wield it.
” absolute power corrupts absolutely “
“while the government may be honest” lol, maybe in the sense that they honestly despise all non-sunni-non-sectarian syrians!
everyone likes to have their own space
that globally without discrimination based on religion race gender sexuality yes based on politics and their idea of ” class ” really bottom line .” and in the end times the least shall be the highest and the highest the lowest ” something like that the bible. ” we were unfit to breath the air ” grand duchess maria, i believe from memory ,of their drunken uneducated ignorant ruthless murdering bloodthirsty prison guards .
the ‘new’ syrian govt. = shitkickers
all set up imo now the wife’s filing dir divorce so she can get back into england according to sources on google. she’ll want millions in the settlement and to keep her jewels etc .
i wouldn’t be surprised if the syrians soon cry out for assad again, just as the lybians regretted the removal of gaddafi. the undereducated syrians have probably not realized after all these years that it is the us terrorists and their vassals who are to blame for the catastrophic situation in syria and not assad . now they will probably learn the hard way that ignorance and stupidity can destroy a country .
