The Kharkov region remains a hot battlefield of the war in Ukraine. After the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost control over several villages to the north and est of the city of Kharkov, they launched another counter offensive. Both sides are trying to attack in different areas, claiming control of different villages, that are later attacked by enemy forces. As a result, positional battles continue on the Cossack Lopan—Liptsy—Ternove—Rubezhnoye line.

The main front lines in the Donbass region lay on the streets of the city of Severodonetsk. On the evening of June 6, Russian-led forces claimed again that the AFU units were repelled from the city center and that clashes continue in the local industrial area of the Azot plant. The AFU were not able to hold control over the city streets after the recent counter offensive. Meanwhile, the AFU military command continues transferring reinforcements to the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk metropolitan area in an attempt to turn their positions into another fortress of the Ukrainian resistance. At the same time, the military supplies are threatened by the Russian fire along the roads leading to the region.

On the evening of June 6, the Russian military claimed a new victory. According to preliminary data, the city of Svyatogorsk came under control of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The last stronghold of the AFU in the Svyatogorsk Lavra was taken under control of Russian-led forces. The mop-up operation continues in the city and on its outskirts.

Russian-led forces also advanced in the southern direction from their military positions in the town of Liman. On June 5, the village of Ilyichevka (Ozernoe) came under DPR control. Russian-led forces The troops approached the village of Zakotnoe. The Russian advance threatens Ukrainian military supplies along the Artemovsk (Bakhmut)-Seversk-Lisichansk highway, which is also used for transfer of military equipment to the Ukrainian positions in Severodonetsk.

In the Soledar region, the AFU are attempting to push Russian units away from the Bakhmut-Lisichansk highway near the villages of Belogorovka and Berestovoye. So far, no significant success has been reached. The road is under fire of Russian artillery.

In the area of Zolotoe, the AFU are still holding their positions in the town of Vrubovka. However, they are threatened by the Russian advance from the southern direction which became possible after the town of Kamishevakha came under DPR control. Clashes reached the outskirts of Zolotoe.

On the central front lines in the DPR, units of the People’s Militia claimed some successes near Avdeevka. A small advance was reported to the north of the village, where the AFU were repelled from their positions.

Some changes on the front lines were reported in the southern regions of Ukraine. On une 5, the AFU launched another counter offensive in the town of Davidov Brod. Ukrainian units managed to take control over the town. However, the retreating Russian units opened fire on the Ukrainian positions in the town. As a result, the AFU suffered heavy material losses and were forced to retreat after another Russian attack. As of June 6, Russian units are reportedly in control of Davidov Brod.

At the same time, Russian forces broke through the Ukrainian defenses in the Velikoaleksandrovsky district of the Kherson region. After Russian troops crossed the Ingulets River, battles broke out in the village of Belaya Krinitsa.
