On January 22, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) announced that they had repelled another attack by Saudi-led coalition proxies on their positions in the district of Ain in the central-southern Yemeni province of Shabwah.
In a brief statement, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari said that the coalition’s proxies sustained heavy human and material losses during the failed attack.
“More than 120 [coalition-backed fighters] were killed or wounded, and more than 12 vehicles armors were destroyed,” the spokesman said.
While repelling the attack, the Houthis launched four ballistic missiles at gatherings of the coalition’s proxies in Shabwah. According to Brig. Gen. Sari, many were killed or wounded as a result of the missile strikes.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-backed Giants Brigades have been leading the Saudi-led coalition’s ground operations in Shabwah and the neighboring province of Ma’rib for nearly a month now.
This was the Saudi-led coalition’s fourth attack on Houthi positions in Ain in the last ten days. The three previous attacks, which took place on January 12, 14 and 19, were also repelled. The Houthis are apparently determined to hold onto their remaining positions in Shabwah. The group’s fierce resistance may soon force the Saudi-led coalition to halt its ground operations in the province.

Disqus is a US company, and since the state deparment has put Southfront on its “Russian Propaganda” sanction list, they are not allowed to do business together. It wont happen sadly. But SF could still switch to another open source software from this one and e.g. force people to make accounts and register. Or actually put some work in to moderate here.
