On June 12, fire broke out onboard the French Navy’s Ruby-class nuclear submarine Perle docked at the Mediterranean port of Toulon. Photos from the site show that the submarine in fact burned to ashes and barely can be restored.

All thr French nuclear submarines should have been burnt after it was slavery and colonization money that build France and them.

Laurent Parodi

Colonization was a huge mistake. But you know france is not the us. France was born more than 1000 years before the beginning of the colonization process.

Jens Holm

Unfortunatly many forget how tthings were. The greek Democrasy had slaves. Vikings had slaves. So many had slaves.

The difference might be the systematic very big trade develloping big areas in farming and mining.

Simplekindof Man

Put in perspective the ancient Greek slaves lives of that era were a walk in the park compared to other parts of the world, most could buy their freedom and others treated as equal if proved their aligence to the state. Hence the “breakthrough” and democracy.

Jens Holm

Slavery was only a small part of the Frech succes. Maybee You also should read a little about why Empires collapse.

Many colonies and aming them most of the French taken parts has been investments given minus if You add and subtract.

And before the French came there of course – according to You – was happiness and understanding as well as no slavery. You even has slavery in the old French colonies today fx like Mali and Niger.

And who sold the Frech their slaves. Well local did. Very good income selling unwanted persons as wellas loosers in local tribe matters.

Pave Way IV

…and French slave subs were the absolute worst. Cramped, stuffy, smelly, occasional fires, probably crawling with coronavirus, too. Food was pretty good, so that was a plus.

Jens Holm

If You say so.

But I relate to It was before my time and my background as Danish is from lower peasent hands and fishermen.

4 of my grnadfathers siblings emmigrated because they hardly had food and clothe.

Here You include all French having no oppertunities around slavery too. We were feudals almost owned by the Upperclass and mine i the last days of slavery could not even vote, because we were low class and hardly taxpayers.

So I think You should exclude all French alive in Your reflexions AND INCLUDE the French of today which since 1848 has decided that no slavery is allowed.

Laurent Parodi

Good news. At least it won t be used to attack syria or to bully russia. That is the only thing the french navy is good at right now. I am french so I am not pleased to say that. But the truth is the truth.

Zionism = EVIL

Anyone who has driven a French crappy car will understand why froggy junk burns down.

good american

Ahhh, but who can match the old citroens for style though?

Bob

France was actually the epicenter of open-wheeled motor racing in first decades of twentieth century – Grand Prix’s came from French automotive racing – and Peugeot ruled the GP roost, and in 1913 and they sent driver and car to US, winning Indianapolis 500 too boot.

occupybacon

Don’t worry, you won’t bully Russia, you gets bullied by Turkey.

TIGRICA19937

how the hell is nonexistent french army going to bully Russia? The same way, Napoleon did? 500000 invaded Russia, 30000 returned back, followed by russian army.

Drinas

Rekt. No chance it returns to service.

Jens Holm

I thought subs like that only could burn if it was filled uo with cocnag and calvados:)

Bob

French toast…

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Is it Russia’s fault? If not, then they will more than likely find a way to blame it on Russia.

PZIVJ

Several molotov cocktails where found at the scene along with a lost Russian passport and an empty vodka bottle. Those dam Ruskies! :DD

Jaime Galarza

One of the passports belonged to Putin.

FlorianGeyer

Wow :)

FlorianGeyer

It must have been Russia’s fault. Macron was in London this week and MI6 will doubtless have said that it’s ‘Highly Likely’ that Russia did it’, :)

Jens Holm

Very optimistic. This is no S/M site:)

Dick Von Dast'Ard

French yellow submarine to go with the French yellow vests.

JIMI JAMES

Royal Australian navy will be scratching their heads about their future subs, for sure!

Jens Holm

Thats not related at all. This sub perle was split into pieces in a drydok.

Dick Von Dast'Ard

One submarine less that the Turks will need to sink.

Jens Holm

Even Erdogan has not a big mouth for that.

AM Hants

That class submarine is due to be de-commissioned, owing to replacements being in various stages of build.

FlorianGeyer

I do hope the nuclear power unit has contaminated the French facility.

Jens Holm

I do hope You in Your old days will be able to look up facts on the internet Yourself. Its very easy. By that You would behave less contaminated Yourself.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_submarine_Perle_(S606)

AM Hants

I was wondering what happened to the reactor. Wonder if the submarine was first on the list to be de-commissioned or last? Funny how MSM have ignored the story as the focus on Corona and BLM.

One cannot go to the pub, but, can take a flight for a vacation. Then how are the pubs without outdoor facilities going to work? Plus, if you go out ‘trapping’, down the local pub, or just a romantic evening, do you have to wear protective clothing, starting with the masks? Cannot see it being a Venician Masked Ball event. That I would relish.

Besides desperate for a glass of wine down the local, so miss popping into Weatherspoons for a full English whilst out shopping.

Vitex

It’s all bullshit. You notice that protestors are miraculously exempt from lockdown too

Peter Jennings

Some in the US political hierarchy seem to think it’s ok to riot and burn stuff as long as one wears a mask.

Peter Jennings

All businesses should just open as they like and let the gov’t try to stop them. The patrons of the pub will deal with gestapo.

So far the gov’t has got everything wrong. If Covid couldn’t kill an unfit, overweight philanderer we don’t have much to worry about.

AM Hants

Must admit, mentally it is doing my head in, owing to pure stupidity of it all. I am seriously p*ssed off, there is virtually zero healthcare, courtesy GP surgeries. Not just because of recent heart attack, with no post hospital care, but, for others, who have conditions, where you cannot waste time.

You can go on vacation, but, cannot sit in a pub, having a chat over a nice glass of wine.

Ralph London

Come on, AM, get with the program (programming, get it?). Just put on a scuba diving kit, with maybe one of those diving glass head thingys and you’re good to go.

AM Hants

Lol, can just imagine, happily sitting down, in vintage diving gear, with glass style head, drinking a glass of wine, down the nearest pub or hotel (closer). Bet I would not be the only one.

FlorianGeyer

I must admit that the airwaves and newspapers ( marxist opinions) filled with wall to wall Corona issues and black faces with BLM opinions everywhere on TV are rather tiresome.

Slavery is abhorrent, as is the slavery of animals kept in bad conditions, but ALL nations and peoples have been involved in slavery at some time, INCLUDING negro slavers who supplied arab slavers and others. Many of the slave ships in the 18th/19th century were owned by jews.

History is what it is and without historical knowledge ‘man’ is destined to be as cattle that ( that not who) are herded, milked and culled by the high priests.

Arguably, conscription to fight wars etc is a form of slavery. The rank and file rarely gain from any wars, even if they are on the winning side, and thats if they survive.

As for a Masked ball, AM, you could hop on the train to Bradford with a mask and imagine you are on the way to Venice on the Orient Express instead.

I have to say that I have never been to a Wetherspoons pub, for no other reason that I am not really keen on busy pubs, and I have not had a Full English for over 6 years now. :)

AM Hants

Haha, with regards North West to Bradford Orient Express. Bet you do not even need Agatha Christie for entertainment.

Weather spoons, you don’t know what you are missing, haha. When down South, a friend and myself would pop into town, have a full English, before hitting the shops. Returning home late in the evening, drunk in charge of shopping bags. For some reason, in a town full of coffee shops and little else, we could stay out shopping till late. Neither of us lovers of evenings in Weatherspoons, owing to how busy it was. Yet, both have cried with laughter, owing to having some seriously surreal times in Weatherspoons.

One night, before going to a fancy dress, themed pub, we popped into Weatherspoons, and the mob looked like they were filming a Batman film, as the Penguin comes to mind. Moved onto next pub, unbeknown, holding a fancy dress event, horror themed, but, not as good as your crowd down Weatherspoons.

Another time, we popped in for a burger, after a day of shopping. We’ll, sitting by the front window, you had a monk on roller skates, flying down the High Street. So we had another bottle of wine, when the over 70s mobility scooter club, we’re racing up the High Street, driving motorbike themed mobility scooters, and looking like they were preparing for the Olympics. So we had an other bottle of wine, and it was during a year, somewhere had just hosted the Olympics. We’ll, the next act were the Pokermon or whatever they are called zombies, out hunting Pokermons. My friend and me have a similar sense of humour, so we were crying tears of laughter at the weirdness of an average day down the shops. Must admit, Weatherspoons has happily provided a few surreal evenings, and I seldom go there in the evenings as I cannot stand crowds.

FlorianGeyer

My experience of the North West is limited to a few horse shows and a nighttime re-enactment of the US navy invasion of Whitehaven during the Napoleonic wars, and also a bit of hill walking.

AM Hants

Hill walking is lovely and some breath taking scenery. Other parts marmite, you either love or hate, but, what you see is what you get.

Lockdown is winding me up, as cannot understand why majority are not questioning it. Just being good sheep. Trouble is, there is no humour anywhere, which is what is seriously doing my head in. Plus, I just want to be able to go out for a glass of wine and feel alive.

Last went to Whitehaven over a decade ago, but, can imagine a Napoleonic re-enactment would have been serious good fun. Mainly because I used to enjoy ‘Hornblower’, however, assuming tall ships were not involved?

FlorianGeyer

Actually there was a tall ship in harbour for the event and I was rowed ashore with a raiding party. It was at night, and I had a rather resplendent uniform as I stood in the row boat praying that I would not lose my balance and have to swim ashore. :)

AM Hants

Bet you had a brilliant night.

FlorianGeyer

It was quite cold if I recall.

AM Hants

Haha, sounds normal weather, with plenty of rain thrown in.

AM Hants

Did not know the US tried invading Whitehaven. It is a lot quieter there now.

FlorianGeyer

Lol. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/john-paul-jones-burns-whitehaven-england

I do enjoy history, it will be a soulless existence if the Common Purpose gang take absolute control.

AM Hants

It is like the zombies have taken over. Trying to get my head around Burnley FC, celebrating the Nazi themed kneel, whilst giving a lifetime ban to those who mentioned ‘White Lives Matter’.

We are stampeding into Nazi ideology and hardly anybody is noticing.

FlorianGeyer

There have been a plethora of jingoistic war films and documentaries in recent years and they seem to be attempting to build upa war time spirit with all the restrictions that go with that. The BBC tonight had a Maggie Thatcher falklands war programme that put her in a good light. Seeing as the BBC elite hate all she stood for, I find this rather odd.

It’s true to say that all wars are about trade, and the West is essentially financially and morally bankrupt with the only option of stealing another nations wealth to survive. I would think that russia is the target as Russia’s demise would open up a stream of plunder to last another 100 years and it would also bring China to heel as serfs to the Western oligarchy again.

I sincerely hope I am wrong, but WW3 is nigh, in my opinion.

AM Hants

Personally, I think we are in the middle of WWIII, but, our leaders do not have the balls to tell us. Expect the ‘hate and divide’ tactics to do the job.

I remember being on a bus with my youngest son, when he was a teenager. Sean of the Dead had been released, on DVD and I was people watching, the passengers on the bus. As we were getting off, said to him it was like they were casting for ‘Sean of the Dead’, he laughed, but, agreed with his mum. Something of a rarity. Now, we are in the re-enactment stage. A Western World, 90% zombiefied.

FlorianGeyer

I agree. We are in the latter stages of the ‘Phoney war’ that is usually a precursor to the hot stage. However these days the US and NATO have used the unique power of the US dollar to intimidate and degrade their targets.

One mistake could easily spark WW3. The doomsday clock is less that 2 minutes from midnight.

FlorianGeyer

Have you seen this Black US debating club national success video, AM? I first saw it a couple of years ago and it has resurfaced now with the BurnLoot and Rape demos.

My jaw dropped again when I watched the results of US education :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=69&v=fmO-ziHU_D8

AM Hants

Not sure what is worse, the presenter or the girls debating skills. Seriously manic and unhealthy. Think that video will join the feminist fight club, which I watched, a couple of years ago. Will try and find a copy as it is so funny in a very dark way. Also, females who I believe went through the UK University system.

There is also some weird contributor to RT, who runs with a massive description of herself. Shouting out her working class roots, whilst assuming she is the only miner’s daughter from Nottingham to make it to Uni. Do recall, when grammar schools were fashionable, many bright kids from council estates attended them and went onto do well for themselves.

Where I grew up, it was one of the first counties to embrace the dumbed down Comprehensive System. I actually knew more when I started Comp then I did when I left. The wonders of if you cannot be bothered to learn, we cannot be bothered to teach education. Only had one teacher, in the whole time I was there who knew how to stimulate the minds of her pupils. Do believe there were a couple of others, but, never taught by them. One of our teachers, Human Biology, would get us to open our books, then take himself off to his toy room for the rest of the lesson. Come back to the classroom, end of lesson, to tell us to close our books. Seriously weird school, but, led the way with regards education of the future.

FlorianGeyer

‘Reeding, Ryting and Rithmatick ‘ never did me any harm, AM :)

AM Hants

Haha, believe it or not same. Just should proof read, before texting. Sausage fingers and auto-correct, means that Disqus needs a translation service for my comments, ha-ha.

AM Hants

The UK version of highly educated, 21st century style, feminism. You have to handle the presenter, but, I do like the straight talk of what he has to say. Never heard of ‘monkey hammocks’ that men wear, to make themselves look attractive. Although my dear shopping friend, would spot a monkey hammock a mile away, and no doubt complete with radar imagery.

Miss UK 21st Century Style – ANTIFA Feminazi Fight Club… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2t6Zricnd8

Plus, it has made me remember Holly, post BREXIT and her eloquent argument for staying in the EU.

London, anti-Brexit protester Hollie, by Downing Street… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIjUESuwqes

My biggest nightmare, one of my sons bringing home Holly, and introducing her as the future daughter-in-law haha and the other one bringing home one of the Antifa Feminazi fighters, introducing her the same way. Think I would seriously rush for a spot in the local crematorium, if either scenario happened.

FlorianGeyer

Bring back the loony bins and the workhouse’s to get these freaks off the streets :)

I also have never heard of a Monkey Hammock . Send the wearers to Africa and see how they like it there without a passport and citizenship to get back into the UK.

AM Hants

Must admit, I did find myself laughing at the ‘monkey hammock’, and liked some of his descriptions, with regards the feminists. The ‘monkey hammock’ scenario was similar to using shuttlecocks down your pants, to get noticed ha-ha. Do believe the late George Michael, was a fan of that trick, if memory serves me correctly.

Pave Way IV

Why didn’t it have any ‘nuclear materials’ on board if it was a nuclear-powered sub? I thought subs used sealed reactors. Do they crack open older ones and refuel them? Dry dock or not, nuclear subs and fire are words that should never occur in the same sentence. WTF could possibly burn in a sub for 17 hours? What are you hiding, France??

Jens Holm

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_submarine_Perle_(S606)

Icarus Tanović

Obviously a sabotage.

Pave Way IV

Doom:OFF. Looks like French subs have a big damn removable hatch on the top of the hull. The pressure vessel surrounding the PWR reactor has to be inspected from the inside every ten years. They not only pull the core, but everything else inside the pressure vessel through the removable hatch every decade. Looks like the French prefer to do that in dry dock rather than underway and submerged. They only use low-enriched uranium plates as fuel, so even if they dropped the core during refueling/removal, the inside of the sub probably wouldn’t turn into the sun. Disclaimer: I an not licensed to operate or refuel most French nuclear reactors. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/14229cb1a2108418c39141e05c7fadd4f82f171139df2fe8dd8c276c8f6450dc.png

From Peter Lobner’s Marine Nuclear Power: 1939 – 2018 on The Lyncean Group’s web site. Part 4: Europe & Canada France, pg. 159 Rubis / Améthyste-class SSN, pg. 245

PZIVJ

Nuclear fission is not so bad. did you know it can cut down on Corona virus in your area? Unless you live in Florida where sunshine is the key, but Gamma is 27% higher. Just stay safe and keep on washing your dirty hands!

SnowCatzor

Unfortunately these old-generation nuclear submarines are notoriously volatile, it’s not the first to burn-up like this. This won’t actually affect the French navy’s operations much though, as this class of ship are scheduled for retirement in the coming years.

Laurent Parodi

Actually it will affect the french navy. The Perle was the youngest rubis class submarine and it was scheduled to remain in service until 2030. The new barraccuda class submarines are very expensive and difficult to built. They are building them at a very slow path. The 2 oldest rubis class submarines have already been decomissionned. Right now the french navy has only 3 attack submarines in active service. The perle is now lost and they will lack 1 submarine for the next 10 years.

Jens Holm

Its as if You kind of expect a kind of French expansion of their military forces. I dont. I see the slow replacemenrts as peace divident and a reamining level in a modernized version.

Most countries in Western Europe in doing that as a contrats to the Russian propaganda only adding less then 1 % to their warbudget even USA demand it and We easy can effort it.

Slow tempo by that dont say a thing. They so build very good war vessels for others and even Russia.

Missile subs are not attack? Maybe they can fire nukes too, but we dont know.

But of course reflexions are relevant.

How many Nuke Subs do Russia have aprt from the sunken Kursk?

PZIVJ

In the battle of Kursk, it was reported that a T34 would sometimes ram or drive onto the front hull of the slow Tiger. This I call a tactical victory. :)

Jens Holm

If possible its not so bad. Many vessels including subs are made for that.

As I recall it the Britts told their Mathilda tanks had horns and learned the driver to use them well. They could make damage to almost everything.

It was a part of the T34 use to come into close range to the Tigers:)

vivekananda

bullshit. tigers had larger cannons and no t34 had chance to come so close.

Jens Holm

They certainly did. A very much used trich was to attack with so many armed vehicles, so the Germanscould not eliminate all of them.

Here the penetration range meant a lot. I also will add that the T34 was a serie and was upgraded a lot in cano9n effectivitet. The first ones was almost WW1 but the last ones had modern barrels as well as much more effective grenades. USSR could not make advanced grenades until late in the war.

I will remind You Germans lost a lot of tgewir heavy stuff, because the engines and gear was not good. They also ran out of ammo as well as grenades.

http://www.tankarchives.ca/2013/06/ramming-speed.html

Stupid people remains stupid, because they already knows everything. Facts is a waste of time.

Laurent Parodi

You see when european countries make military drills close to russian border or when the royal navy sends a type 23 frigate in the barents see or the french navy sends a fremm class frigate in the same barents close to russian waters I understand that russia considers that as threats and hostile activities. This is not russian propaganda. As for propaganda there is propaganda everywhere. I see propaganda every time I switch on my TV here in my own country France. As for propaganda you are yourself very good at it when you ask how many nuclear submarines does have russia appart from the sunken kursk. Russia has around 35 nuclear submarines in active service. Remember how a los angeles class nuclear sub collided with a japanese cargo ship or when a norwegian frigate sunk after colliding with an oil tanker? Mistakes and accidents happen everywhere. Choosing to talk about some accidents and choosing to avoid talking about others, that is propaganda and misinformation.

Peter Jennings

UK fishermen have also fallen victim to subs around the UK when their nets have been snagged, although the MOD has denied it. They would do that.

Jens Holm

Obvios You are censured from what Russia does or an ignorant.

Russians again and again send jet in full speed against Bornholm i the Baltic Sea. It also has deplyed more and bigger miissles in Kaliningrad between Poland and Lituania, so 4 of Our Corvettesnow has to have the ordered Skuds as well as many smaller missiles.

I do remeber the Norweigian accident very well. Here we saw exact the same rountine propsganda from Russia even the distance to Russia was at least 800 kilometer.

The worst propaganda part is, that we want anything from Russia. You have no usefull things apart from normal food and bread and some god missiles.

Western Europe and for that matter USAhas no need for taking over anything in the Russian non devellopment zone. We already has has problems develloping the ruins Your collapse left us and parts of Assia too.

The next propaganda illusion will be You blame americans for people in Eastern Europe in millions never has seen themselves as children of Father Stalin and Mother Russia,

Finally You cant agree in a very big trade according bew countries all included and then say. No way its Ours. If so a minimum would be compensation for it or else its theft.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_submarine_S-363

Russians on vacation?

Laurent Parodi

Stop saying you I am not russian I am french. From my point of view having good relations with russia is better that having bad ones. Nato went to russian borders is not the other way around. Russian are not doing freedom of navigation missions next to french or american waters. Militarisation of europe is a western political decision not a reaction to what russia did. You are obviously some kind of russophobic maniac. Not interested in talking with moronic one sided people like you.

Jens Holm

Some mice must be earing Your Internet and TV cables about it.

The mistake anytime was that Russia split Germany into 2 countries in the middle. There was no border there.

You also seemes to ignore Estern Europe never should have been allowed to be USSR fiasko Neocolonialisme, which even collapsed itself.

Western Europe has been less militaried since the USSR version of stupid suicide. It even has a name: PEACE DIVIDEND.

We even has been and are blamed by USA(Obama as well as Trump) for not taking Our part of the job.

So You say that we are not allowed to defend Our borders for Our ow countries liberated by stupidity from the Marx/Engels Quamire.

Who here in west need anything in the Russian territory. Just as the Nazis helped by USSR until 1941 were able to take Your belowed France, we only need oil and and some food. And that we buy.

Your version of Russia doin nothing back is against all facts too. I allow me to mention LIbya and Syria as good examples.

Pave Way IV

The Perle didn’t have vertical missile tubes, only four torpedo tubes. It was a fast attack sub, but intended for anti-sub warfare.

SnowCatzor

Sure, but I’m sure they’ll manage just fine.

Jens Holm

Status for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_submarine_Perle_(S606)

Okay, just created a Disqus account to say:

This website is not thought for informing people about what’s happening, but to make pro-russia people happy by writing what they want to actually read which is anything that makes Russia and its allies look stronger. This is not a military/strategy/analysis news website, its a website that wants only the “donate now plz” money from you the the readers.

That’s my point of view. Been reading this websites content since 2015, I’m out guys.

Jens Holm

Nice to know You did not die:)
