Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on August 25 that Iran had tried to assassinate one of his two sons.
“Here I think there is something quite unbelievable… Iran targeted one of my sons. Iran tried to kill, to murder one of my sons,” Netanyahu told the pro-government Channel 14 in a phone interview, without saying which of his sons was a target, or providing any further details.
Hebrew media outlets noted that the matter had been under censorship for several months. One report by Channel 12 said the alleged assassination plot had been known to the Israeli security establishment for several months.
“Iran tried to murder one of my sons,” the prime minister repeated. “And therefore this security protection is not a luxury,” he went on, seemingly referring to the agreement reached with the Shin Bet to extend security protection for his sons, Yair and Avner, and to grant lifetime security coverage to his wife, Sara, regardless of the outcome of the October 27 election.
On the very same day, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) released a nearly three-minute video showing locations Barron, the youngest son of United States President Donald Trump, is known to frequent, including New York’s Trump Tower, and asked: “Where to kill Barron Trump?!”
The video said people were “eagerly waiting to receive our $10 million reward,” implying that the Islamic Republic is offering such a prize.
U.S. Secret Service later told CNN that they were aware of the video and were investigating threats to Trump and his family.
“The US Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring told CNN.
“Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence,” they added.
Iranian media have repeatedly threatened Netanyahu and Trump along with their families following the February 28 assassination of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and family members during opening strikes of the U.S.-Israeli war on the Islamic Republic.
Netanyahu likely revealed the plot to target one of his sons in defense of the recent and unusual agreement to extend their security protection even if he loses the upcoming election. Meanwhile, the threat to Barron was likely Iran’s retaliation for the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, which this week offered up to $10 million for information on five senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders.

imo you need to stop directing your frustration at s-f. yesterday i wasn’t able to comment due to interference – had captcha verification errors even though there is no captcha here, and 002 errors whatever they are. they come and go all the time due imo to external manipulation. obviously people post disinformation and filth, and recall the previous website was hijacked by the terrorist fbi. they want to shut down s-f or destroy its credibility. are you trying to help do that?

i’ve found voting is always possible, even when commenting is not. but then they can and do manipulate feedback scores up/down or to zero as they see fit. but now that this trickery of their has been spoken about and exposed they seem to have stopped doing that. for now anyway…

i used to be sure this site was being hacked, but sometimes i wonder. another site (tid-the intel drop) that used this same board had the same non-captcha bs and sometimes just wouldn’t post. everyone complained, including me. they wanted screen shots of the issues and i obliged. after bitching them out over frustration, they replaced the board. now when you try to post, you get blocked.
they also post previous comments in a side bar along side articles. i looked yesterday and every comment is old, there is not one new comment. that was a lesson in how to ruin your readership. i’d love to know their click count. sf also has some very strange takes on some things and some articles make one wonder, kinda like soft propaganda.
