Early on September 3, a series of Israeli strikes targeted the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
A source in the Syrian military told the state-run news agency that the strikes were launched from the airspace of neighboring Lebanon.
“At about 1:26 am today, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression from southeast of Beirut, targeting some points in the vicinity of Damascus, our defenses confronted the aggressor’s missiles and downed most of them, losses were limited to materials,” the source said.
The Syrian Arab Air Defense Forces (SyAADF) engaged a number of hostile missile, as seen in several videos shared by the SANA. However, explosions were reported on the ground.

One of the anti-aircraft missiles launched by the SyAADF, reportedly a Soviet-made S-200, chased Israeli warplanes deep into Israel. The missile exploded midair off the shores of the capital Tel Aviv. No losses were reported as a result of the explosion.

In the last two months, the Israeli military struck several targets in central Syria. Many Syrian civilians, Iranian-backed fighters and service members were killed.
The recent strikes on Syria are a part of Israel’s “War-Between-Wars” military campaign, which is meant to hinder Iranian entrenchment in Syria. So far, the campaign has failed to achieve its main objective. Iran’s military presence in Syria never been stronger.
This isn’t news any more. Yawn.
After that F-16, there was f-35 that waa downes with this same missile. And Zionists retaliate, the way they do best-cowardly, by downing Russian spy plane. All on board died.
S-200 ? Still Syria are using this System from the 1970. Why Russia do not allow Syria to use the S300 ??
This is odd. The Syrian crews have had more than enough time to train on the S-300 so I can only think of two explanations. 1. Russia has enough leverage to threaten Syria not to target Israeli jets unless they are over Syrian air space. Russia can withhold resupplying missiles, maintenance, upgrades.
2. This second S-200 range attack is a warning to Israel, it’s significant that it took place over Israeli territory, not over Lebanon or international air space (a very Russian thing to do, don’t risk foreign non-combatants). At some point there will be an S300 attack.
The thing that works against the second theory is that the Russians could let Syria ‘paint’ Israeli jets with S-300 radar, even without firing on them and that would make them wet their pants.
Exactly!
Is matter of location, Syria has its older network of SAMs, and the proximity of intruder to battery dictates the response from system. These missile may be old, but bear in mind when the proxy war against Syria began, select US trained militants were directed to storm the country’s SAM sites, especially across south west nearest Israeli, as first order of business. They did this and wrecked many of the installations. Just consider that, the militants didn’t immediately move to storm Damascus, they went to storm remote SAM sites. Which operate against foreign air forces. Exact same pattern as occurred in Libya a year earlier as part of NATO structured regime change operation. For decades, with S-200’s, Syria was considered to have most formidable of SAM networks amongst Arab states, and it was an effective deterrent to Israeli violations of their airspace. That is why it was immediately targeted by US trained militants, and many of the remote sites were caught off guard at time.
I hope that the tankers will also deliver hightec air defence to Syria and Lebanon. Then once the parasite planes are taking off, they will be downed, in Palestine, the mediterrania , over Libanon. Also need for balistic missils from Iran and warheads off 1000kg to rase the yankee bases in Jordan, because it is a legitime target in the war.
Its a scandal that Lebanon don’t have a air defence system or an airforce after decades of Zionist aggression, some of their politicians who have allowed this should be shot.
This is the second time in a year.
Syria clearly has the ability to wipe Tel Aviv out tomorrow if it came to that.
Why are they waiting…
Chabad Putin.
Its time some Israeli air bases were hit with ballistic missiles.
Isis air force is a dud now. Only caused minor damage.
That’s right! Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
All missile have been shot down…of course syrian sources always talk about material damage due the multiple debris that fall in population areas…but why we dont see huge explosion on ground?
Your absolutly correct, cosmetic pin pricks.
Zionists digging themselves ever deeper into the hole that will eventually bury them.
The zionazi vermin is getting desperate. Good. Their reliance on golden calf, USA, is getting tougher after the yanks were soundly beaten by goat herders. Ultimately the ‘Sampson Option’? This I doubt as cowards, who like to kill unarmed women and children, fears and dreads death.
