A large explosion rocket an ammo depot of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the outskirt of Idlib’s city center in the noon of May 18.
“An ammo depot of HTS, west of Idlib, exploded while HTS fighters were transporting munitions and weapons from it,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a report.
According to the London-based monitoring group, at least 4 fighters of the terrorist group were killed in the explosion. The number of casualties will likely raise in the upcoming few hours.

Some Syrian opposition sources said that the ammo depot was located near Idlib’s college, while others claimed that HTS stored weapons and ammunition in the college’s main building.
The causes of the explosion are yet to be revealed. However, the possibility of a sabotage operation remains high. Previously, several positions and ammo depots of HTS were targeted by ISIS cells, and even supposed operatives of the Russian and Syrian intelligence.
