At about midday on September 20, the Ukrainian military launched another missile attack on Crimea. The peninsula was reportedly targeted with eight Storm Shadow missiles.
According to unofficial reports, the attack was launched by 11 Ukrainian Su-24M bombers which took off from the Starokostantinov airfield in the Khmelnitsky region. Five aircraft were carrying the Storm Shadow missiles. The strikes were launched from the Odessa region.
Together with Storm Shadow missiles, Ukrainian forces reportedly fired three AGM-160 MALD decoy missiles to mislead Russian air defense systems. The operation was monitored by Ukrainian UAVs near Crimea. On the same day, the Russian authorities declared that two UAVs were shot down near Sevastopol.
The Pantsir-S1 air defence system of the 31st Air Force and Air Defense division shot down five cruise missiles over the Cape Tarkhankut and Belbek airfield. Three others fell in the area of Verkhnesadovoye located to the east of the city. The target was probably a former military facility near the village. The local sources reported fire in the fields nin the area. No damage to any military facilities was confirmed.
This is the second attack by Storm Shadow missiles on the Crimean peninsula over the past days. On the morning of September 19, the Ukrainian military attempted another attack on the Crimean Bridge. This time, the target was the Crimean Bridge. For missiles were shot down near Melitopol and Genichesk in the Zaporozhie region.
what the fuck! level odessa! clearly, romania is an infinite supply route… com’on russia! get with it… how can 11 su-24m even take off without your radars.
taking off from the west part and flying low…
the su-24’s can take off from roads. there was a report how the ukrainians are moving them around all the time to hide them. ukraine is over twice the size of france, a lot of hiding places.
why should russia level odessa? a city that was russian and could well be russian again. specific military and logistics points in odessa are destroyed with precision missiles and drones, but no need to level odessa.
it is the zelensky forces that do scorched earth as they retreat; blowing up buildings, bridges and big installations like the kakhovka dam o the dnieper.
how sure can we be that it is ukraine that is launching these attacks on crimea? if it’s ukraine alone then it would seem to indicate that russia would be hard put to resist a full nato attack. perhaps there is something we are not aware of?
